HANGEUL BLOSSOM: Digital Craft Fashion
Hangeul Blossom: Digital Craft Fashion is a research project by professor and designer Rick Lee (Seungik Lee), Creative Director of RICK RHE, exploring how technology can expand rather than replace human creativity and craftsmanship. By integrating cultural identity, advanced fabrication, material innovation, and experimental design, the project proposes a new direction for post-digital fashion.
Developed through collaborative research between Korea and Italy, the project brings together expertise in digital technologies, sustainable materials, and advanced manufacturing. In 2024, Rick Lee and Stratasys presented South Korea’s first fashion project using PolyJet 3D printing, producing precise, multicolour, and multi-material effects directly on fabric and leather. By bringing together diverse techniques, traditions, and perspectives, the research expands the creative and material possibilities of contemporary fashion.

By integrating advanced technologies with diverse materials, each garment transforms Hangeul beyond readable text into three-dimensional surfaces, tactile embellishments, and wearable sculptural forms.
